There are many debates that will undoubtedly impact all of us but they all pale in comparison to the simple debate of which chicken place is better. Unless of course you don’t like or eat chicken. That is irrelevant to this debate as I dive into why Cane’s is better. Disclaimer that I like both services and I will try to to best to be fair to both places

The Chicken:

The chicken at each place has their own unique flavor and many will have their own tastes. Chick-fil-a has a distinct flavor attached to their chicken which you either like or dislike. Levi Ward (10), a Chick-fil-A fan, highlights that there . This is the biggest upside of Chick-fil-A as there is a variety of options for when you are not in the mood for the same thing. At Cane's, they only have one type of chicken. As Connor Conlas (10) points out, it doesn’t matter if “those things are the best you’ve ever had.” Their chicken has more of a natural chicken flavor that pairs well with their signature Cane’s sauce. On its own, however, it is simply not as good.

When comparing meal sizes, Cane’s will give you more chicken but for a higher price. This means you could also share a box meal with a friend, something you could hardly do with a chicken sandwich from chick-fil-a; unless you get nuggets. The breading on each chicken piece is unique, however I find myself liking the Cane’s breading more as Chick-fil-a’s breading is too oily.

A key part of the cooking process is the frying and as a former Cane’s worker I have first-hand knowledge of what goes on in the kitchen. The process at Cane’s includes hand battering the fresh, never frozen chicken to fry until it creates the perfect tender for your meal. At Chick-fil-A, they freeze their chicken that will go straight to the fryer. While some may contend that the process is irrelevant as long as the chicken is good, I contend that Cane’s simply produces better chicken as a result.

Sides:

In my firm opinion, Cane’s fries are just better than Chick-fil-A’s waffle fries. Often I will find my waffle fries not up to standard and the fries often lack the salt needed to make up for it. At Cane’s their fries are consistent and also pair very well with the chicken. Chick-fil-A’s waffle fries often fail to do the same thing and it is less enjoyable to eat them as a result. In my opinion, Cane’s coleslaw just isn’t good but luckily they have the option to swap it out for additional sauce, fries, or toast. Chick-fil-A’s fruit cup allows you to choose a healthier alternative to fries which is a refreshing addition to your meal. Despite this, Cane’s Texas toast is the kingmaker for Cane’s as it comes with your meal and is just too good to turn down.

In my opinion, these factors make Cane’s better than Chick-fil-A.

All opinions are my own and I ask you to please respect others no matter what side of the debate whether you agree with their opinion or not.
