On January 15th, Marvel fans ran to Disney+ for the newest phase in the Marvel storyline. WandaVision stars Elisabeth Olsen as Wanda and Paul Bettany as Vision. In the show, the couple lives in a sitcom world that goes through different ages and styles of television that changes every episode. Often, Wanda is seen living the old traditional role of a housewife while Vision works an office job, but the couple doesn’t belong. They must work to hide their powers while they use them to figure out why things are going wrong.

Marvel fans have been waiting for new content since summer 2019, after the release of Spider-Man: Far From Home. Black Widow with Scarlett Johansson was set to release May 2020, but the release was moved to May 2021 due to movie theaters being closed at the start of the pandemic. After months of no new content, WandaVision saves the day.

Bradley staff and students agree that the show is an exciting addition to the next Marvel phase. Carter Stanley (12) says, “I think the show is really good so far, and I love the balance between the classic sitcom tone and serious tone expected in Marvel productions.” New episodes come out every Friday and give viewers more time with the characters. Mr. Redman said that he enjoys how it’s giving “an interesting and complex look at the characters that we don’t usually have time for in the movies.” Other fans agree that shows give more opportunity than movies. Malachi Haynes (12) says, “it’s interesting to see each week how the story starts slow and less intense like old TV shows, and it builds up like the shows we see today.” Looking for something new? Bradley students and staff have nothing but good things to say about WandaVision.

While WandaVision wasn’t planned to be the beginning of Phase 4 for Marvel, viewers love the story and where it’s going. Emma Gibbs (12) says that she’s most excited for all the movies Marvel has planned this year. WandaVision will have nine total episodes in season one, and the finale will be released on March 5th. With new episodes out every Friday, catch WandaVision on Disney+.
