Wednesday is a popular Netflix series amongst students. It’s a series portraying the Addams family in a different light following Wednesday Addams. In the show, she uncovers hidden secrets and solves a series of murder mysteries. However, she unexpectedly finds strength in her inner self and makes new friends, resultantly changing the course of her life.

This show has been talked about everywhere and it already has so many views. It has surpassed even the ratings of Stranger Things. Claire Copeland (9) says, “I love Wednesday because of the plot, twists and turns. Also, Jenna Ortega is an amazing actress, and the effects and surprises really make it into something.” Its viewer’s found the riddles like a puzzle trying to guess as the show goes on, but it wasn’t that easy. Erin Copeland (9) says, “The entire time I was trying to solve the mystery, in other shows it’s obvious but not in this one. It also has great development and Wednesday is such a unique character with her dark side that you don’t see in other shows.”

The suspense of the series makes for a great story. Plus, this particular show teaches people a significant lesson that surrounding yourself with friends who will always support you, is the best thing to do when you're going through a tough time. It shows that every person has two sides of themselves, a really happy and cheerful one and then the not so joyful and dark one.

There was a big reason why Wednesday audience was so captivated by the character, acting and so much more. Razan Musa (12), “There was always something interesting happening so I never got bored and the mystery keeps you engaged in the story.” The excitement is everything when it comes to audience engagement. If there’s nothing that makes the audience hypnotized, then they will lose focus. Mrs. Watts, a freshman English teacher, says, “Wednesday is not rated high enough, it’s amazing and one of my favorite shows of the year.” I agree with Mrs. Watts, Wednesday deserves all the hype.

Mrs. Cowles, another Freshman English teacher that loves Wednesday comments, “It’s very popular, so I think it’s well deserved popularity. I think it’s underrated for how well Jenna Ortega takes on the role.” It has gained a lot of fame for how well it’s done, which is to be expected. She continues, “ I feel like this was her real breakout role and so I hope she continues to get praised for how much she really made the character her own.” Jenna Ortega is an icon at this moment of time, from acting on Disney channel to becoming Wednesday and portraying it in her own way, it’s fabulous. She also choreographed the dance on the show which many people enjoyed watching, and went viral on tik tok.

I think Wednesday is one of my favorite shows so far that I have watched. Truly, it is everything that I hoped for and more. If you haven’t watched it yet, you are missing out. You should watch it because it is binge worthy. I can’t wait for the next season and I’m so excited to see what Wednesday’s future holds.
