Students at Bradley walk to classes with coffee in their hands from various local shops every day. There are many options to choose from when it comes to getting your daily coffee in Hilliard. Some of them are Starbucks, New Grounds, Coffee Connections, Biggby and more.

A classic favorite coffee shop is Starbucks. Starbucks has expanded with locations in Target stores and in its own locations. Kaylee Korn (11) says her favorite Starbucks drink is “an iced white mocha with sweet cream cold foam.” But there are lots of options of coffee and other sweet drinks at Starbucks. Mr. Witt, choir director, loves the hazelnut oat milk shaken espresso.

Some people like Starbucks because it tastes good and they like the drinks, while others have different reasons. Mrs. Cunningham says, “I tend to go with low calorie drinks and I can’t get those at like Biggby, New Grounds or anywhere else. They focus more on the syrupy latte type drinks, while at Starbucks I normally get a cold brew with sweet cream or an oat milk brown sugar latte shaken espresso and either one of those are in the 200 calorie range for a large, while anything very syrupy is gonna be more than that.” Starbucks has more options than just normal coffee like lattes and mochas. Coffee lovers can change and add things to make the drink what you like and want. For example, you can add sweet cream old foam, different flavored syrups and drizzles on drinks.

While most people tend to lean towards Starbucks, some people like other places, like the newest coffee place in Hilliard: Biggby. Emaan Khan (11) says “I like a 24 ounce frozen bear single shot espresso at Biggby.” Biggby is definitely cheaper than Starbucks. Starbucks drinks can cost up to $8, depending on what you get, while Biggby can cost up to $5.

At the end of the day, we are all creatures of habit. All students have their favorite coffee spot. We definitely recommend trying New Grounds for affordable and delicious coffee because it’s our favorite. Biggby is also great as well, since their coffee is a bit better priced than Starbucks.

Overall, Bradley students' favorite spot for coffee seems to be Starbucks based on our informal study. This is not unusual; it will always be a fan favorite. While it may be more expensive than other shops, the quality is pretty consistent.
