The following story was written by a student on the staff of The Jaguar Times as a part of Hilliard Bradley High School’s Journalism Production course
The Afterlife of the Party came out on September 2, 2021 on Netflix. Victoria Justice who is a famous celebrity, singer, and songwriter stars in the movie. The story follows Cassie (Victoria Justice) and Lisa (Midori Francis) who have been best friends since first grade, but when they grow and become adults, they start to grow apart because of their interests that connect them to their own lives. Life is full of mysteries, and surprises. You can never predict what might happen next.
The two best friends who have always supported each other and spent all their time together start to feel like they know nothing about one another. Liza lives to better her career with the Museum of Natural History while Cassie devotes her days to partying. Their friendship is ruined when they have a fight about Cassie’s need to be a different person with others and trying to be someone she’s not. I think when you start to lose the meaning of your friendship, you should just try harder to give yourself more time to adjust to each other. Always be yourself because no matter what you do or how hard you try you can never be someone you are not. Just love yourself for who you are. Fortunately, she meets Val, a guardian angel and gets a second chance to write her wrongs back on Earth with the people she’s hurt.
She only gets five days leading up to her birthday and she is invisible so she can neither be seen or heard during those days. But if she doesn’t succeed on her mission, she will never be able to earn her wings. Cassie is surprised because after she goes to visit her friend, able to see and hear her. But I think this one is very important because it can show you that everybody deserves a second chance no matter how big their mistakes are. Friendship is the most wonderful thing in the world, so treasure it as long as you can. We all grow up at some point and move on with our lives but we should never forget the friends we made who cherished us and loved us.
Personally, I think the script of this movie is phenomenal! It has a great story about friends and how they can became independent. I like it because it taught me that friendship is the most important treasure and you never realize it until you loose it. Some people always say that when watching a show or movie you only waste your time but on the contrary you might be getting something out of it. I love movies and shows very much, especially ones that have a happy ever after. Also one of my favorite movie topics are friendships.
I love this amazing movie so much. Watching it has made me very happy. I recommend it for anyone who has friendship issues or needs a push to make friends and memorable memories. She did it, the above is waiting. Cassie meets Koop, her favorite singer, while going to the above. They feel like they have always known each other. Happy endings are the best thing in the world. I think Victoria Justice did a wonderful job portraying Cassie’s character. Go watch!
