On Thursday Morning, seniors gathered at the school for one last hurrah. In a string of uncoordinated events, these seniors unleashed chaos onto the school in the biggest prank the school has seen in years. From Toilet Papering the stairs, leaving plastic and foam cups lying around, leaving desks and tables upturned on the stairs and skating around on scooters. They did all of this very quickly and by the time many people got to school it was already trashed. For Bradley junior Tyler Moore, he says that “it was pretty lame and messy”. Many agreed with this but others found it humorous and have taken it as just good fun.
One person who did not find it funny was Mr. Warfield, Bradley’s esteemed principal. He has to set an example and needs to ensure that the rules are followed. In the first period, he came on the P.A. announcing all seniors were to go into the hallways to pick it up. Seniors flocked out of their rooms to help with the cleanup and it was cleaned up within the period. It only makes sense that if you pull a prank, you must be prepared to clean it up.
Apparently Mr. Warfield made quite a statement of displeasure and made an impression on many. According to a student, he even walked into the classroom and reportedly asked them what craziness was going on. I found a Bradley senior and asked him what he thought about the day’s events.
Me: What are your thoughts on Today’s [Thursday's] events?
Anonymous Bradley senior: “The actions this morning were unbelievable. Whoever has done the event, I think they should get fined and jailed and whatever means are necessary to discipline them.:
Me: Any concerns that this could negatively impact you?
Anonymous Bradley senior: “In all seriousness, I do worry about being unable to walk.”
Obviously much of the first part was in jest but the senior was indeed worried that he would be unable to walk. I then reached out to Mr. Warfield and have yet to get a response. Unfortunately as he is busy, I was unable to get a response back. In all likelihood, there fears are unfounded as the as Christopher Nguyen, another senior, reportedly has seen Mr. Warfield pulled some participating seniors aside and talked to them about it and let them know that they will still walk the stage for graduation.
Still it sends a clear message to others to not even think about doing the same thing. Senior pranks can be all fun and games but incoming seniors should be sure to remember this one when this time of year rolls around again next year.
