Bradley homecoming week is finally semi-normal this year. Granted not everything is how it used to be, lots of the homecoming activities are back and everyone is pumped! For the upperclassmen this means they have experienced three different homecomings and spirit weeks throughout their years at Bradley. Having a homecoming inside, at Huntington Park, and on our very own football field is definitely very exciting! Senior Brennan Daykin says, “My favorite homecoming was the indoor homecoming dance at the field house. It was a very epic night.” Lots of people were curious to see what the turf homecoming would look like but people were pleasantly surprised.

SPIRIT WEEK

Spirit week plays a big part in our homecoming week here at Bradley. Our very own class cabinet came together to make these themes as fun and easy as possible. This week everyone was blown away by the participation from each class. Freshman Makenzie Taylor said, “even though the freshmen lost powderpuff it was easy to wear an orange shirt plus it made me look tan.” That was a common answer for all of the classes because of how easy it was to just wear a shirt that color. Even though some people loved it… some people had mixed feelings about the spirit themes. Junior Abby Meister said, “nerd day was bad. I wish it was something easier.” Besides the confusion for some of the spirit days people still had lots of fun participating and can’t wait for many spirit weeks to come!

Our traditional powderpuff game happened this year and all of our players are pumped! This year the powderpuff game took place on the Bradley football field. There were many participants from each grade which made the coaches so excited! Like any normal powderpuff game here at Bradley, the Seniors play the Freshman and the Juniors Play the Sophomores. Senior Elaina Edgington said, “it was just fun to be in the environment and all get hyped up together.” Of course the outcome of this year's game didn’t make everyone happy, but the seniors won against the freshman and sophomores. The seniors are the 2021 champions of the powderpuff game!

HOMECOMING DANCE

The homecoming dance this year took place on the Bradley Football Field this year. The theme was “Light Up The Night” where glow sticks and strands of lights were everywhere. This is different from the traditional dances from past years but people still had a blast. Freshman Katey Kirk says, “I’m so happy we actually had a homecoming, because I honestly didn’t think we were gonna have one.” Unfortunately nobody from outside of Bradley was allowed in but people were still allowed to get pictures outside of homecoming. Everyone has missed out on so much, so having this dance was really exciting for everyone.

Even though these past few years have been rough, people are loving having some sense of normalcy. These activities have brought people so much joy because we haven’t had such a fun week like this in almost 3 years! Students and Staff are so excited to see what’s next here at Bradley High School!
