Pro gifting for procrastinators

This story was written approximately 4.5 hours before the end of the first semester, but unlike turning things in on Canvas, you can’t be quite as last minute with Christmas gifts. So for all of you who just turned in your last project, this gift guide is for you. Express shipping and Amazon will probably be your best friend in the next week.

This crossbody on Amazon comes in a multitude of colors, and it a quick gift for almost any woman you’re shopping for. You can always trust that a functional bag is one someone’s wishlist. It’s practical, useful, and the different colors can match anyone’s style. With Amazon Prime this has 2 day shipping.

For that person in your life who has decided that magic is the best way to solve their problems, these are the cards for them. Maybe they’re just looking to get into spirituality, maybe they bought a few crystals from a niche shop on vacation, either way these cards will help them better understand the ways that they can involve “a little magic to everyday life,” as the Amazon description says. Unfortunately it’s a little late to use these to pass midterms, but hey, maybe finals, right?

Let’s be honest, we all know someone who’s been saying they’re going to take a vacation for at least a year, but they never book it. Maybe it’s your parent, because if we’re honest, high school students are a pain to deal with and they deserve to get away. This is one of the few gift cards that you can give that won’t come off as thoughtless. You could even pair it with a little stocking stuffer that relates to their dream destination. They’ve been dreaming of a ski trip? Thermal gloves would be a nice touch. They dream of the beach everytime the temperature drops below 60°? Some sunscreen and new sunglasses could encourage them to finally take that getaway. These can be virtual so they’re also great for long-distance adventure-loving relatives.

If you’re really a pro-procrastinator and you’re going to wait until 10pm on Christmas Eve to try and find a gift, tickets to an event at Columbus’s own Schottenstein Center are an instant gift. They may be a bit more expensive than some other things on this list, but that’s the price of procrastinating. Dua Lipa, Tyler, The Creator, and Ben Platt are just some of the few coming to Columbus in the spring.

Best of luck to all of you who are stuck last-minute shopping (even though it’s totally your fault). May all your packages arrive safely, and remember that the holiday season is about taking time to be with people you love, not just gifts! From everyone at The Jaguar TImes, happy holidays! See you all next year.
