Jaguar students mask up for Halloween

The following story was written by a student on the staff of The Jaguar Times as part of Hilliard Bradley High School’s Journalism Production course.

Zombies and princesses fill the streets of neighborhoods on one special night of the year: Halloween! The only day of the year where villains, heroes, celebrities and animals walk around and trick or treat for as much candy as possible. But, one question fills households all October; what should you be for Halloween? This creative holiday allows for so many new out of the box ideas to light up the night.

The Jaguar Times wanted to know what Hilliard Bradley high school students and teachers were dressing up as for this Halloween. When asking students and teachers what they wanted to be, the answers varied. Madison Meyers (12) says, “Dressing up as a doctor would be fitting because I can wear a mask without it looking weird.” Ideas like this were very safe and smart for students so that they follow COVID-19 guidelines but still allow for some fun. Robert Snyder (10) mentions “wearing a masked head” would be the smartest because it allows you to not wear a mask like the ones we wear when going out.

Students aren't the only people dressing up for Halloween. When asked what he would dress as this Halloween Mr. Bleh said, “Dr. Anthony Fauci or perhaps a virus”. Halloween is going to be different for many this year. Some won't be allowed to trick or treat and some will. Even though there's a lot going on that is not allowing kids, teens, and adults to continue a normal daily life, Halloween could be a nice chance to do something fun and take some pictures.
