Bradley fall sports seasons are wrapping up! These athletes are extremely happy about the amount of support from students and staff at Bradley High School. This was the first real season of athletics since COVID-19 so for these athletes, having fans back was a major deal.

Varsity Girls Soccer (8-1-7)

The varsity girls soccer team had a really strong season this year. Junior captain Clara Richardson said, “My favorite part of this season was being able to play soccer with an amazing group of girls, and having the fans back in the stadium to cheer us on.” As many of the athletes have stated, the fans bring so much more than just energy. They help them play even though it can be nerve racking at times. This varsity team consists of all four grades and has a really strong connection that they bring to the field. They had a strong run in the tournament but came short against Delaware Hayes which brought their season to an end. All of them are excited to train in the off season or start their new journeys at college.

Varsity Boys Soccer (7-9-3)

The varsity boys soccer team had a very good run this season. They played 18 games, and had very good outcomes for most of them. They had a very close team that meshed really well together, making this season enjoyable for everyone. The seniors on this team had a bittersweet ending to their season with a loss in the end of season tournament to Mount Vernon. There were lots of seniors on this team and they all had really great performances this season. Senior captain Christian Harris says “scoring a goal against Davidson and celebrating with the boys” was his most memorable moment this soccer season. Many of the seniors are hoping to take their skills to the next level and the underclass men are ready to get right back at it with off season training for the upcoming season.

Varsity Football (5-5)

The football team this year was finally able to experience a normal season with a huge attendance, especially in the student section. This is a very popular sport at Hilliard Bradley high school where people see the most attendance out of the students and families. Senior Mason Koons says, “It’s a huge part of the game especially when you hear the crowd being behind you. I missed having the student section because of Covid last year but glad to have them back.” Hilliard Bradley’s student section this year was also able to participate in different themes every Friday which made coming to the football games more exciting than they already were. In the first round of the playoffs they play Lancaster and if they win they advance!

Varsity Girls Volleyball (7-12)

Girls volleyball had a very good season this year. Through the ups and downs that this team had, they were still able to follow through with some good, strong wins. Senior Sydney Bleyle said, “it’s not necessarily about the wins and losses, it’s more about the friendships that come out of it.” This volleyball team has a variety of all grades but they are all super connected as a team and work really well together on and off the court. They had a tough outcome in their end of the season tournament but are ready to start off season training soon!
