With the winter season right around the corner, that means not only the weather is changing, but so is our choice of clothing. There are many different styles and routes you can take to keep yourself warm in the winter while also looking trendy! Below are some popular styles and tips you can use to look super fashionable during the winter season.

Comfy

Under this category you can mix and match a variety of different pieces of clothing. Sweatpants or leggings are definitely some of the best options for pants, especially just for a comfy day at school. Adding a basic crew-neck, any sweatshirt, or even a loose flannel would be the best option to pair with those types of pants. Converse or any type of tennis shoe would be perfect for these types of outfits to keep you warm and comfy.

Retro/Throwback

This type of look can be taken a variety of ways. Mom jeans, dad jeans, and cargo pants would be a super cute option to make this outfit have a more retro feel. Oversized vintage tees and a long sleeve turtleneck underneath would pull the whole outfit together. Throwback Jordan’s or any old type of shoes would also be perfect. Freshman Avery Russo suggests, “Look on Pinterest for inspiration and find photos that resemble the look you are going for.” Doing this not only sparks new ideas, but it also shows someone exactly what you need to put this outfit together.

Fancy

This category is definitely one of the hardest to style. When you think fancy, the first thing that probably comes to mind is a dress or skirt. Those are definitely very possible options but not always the warmest. Freshman Makenzie Taylor gives the advice to “Style with no more than three colors.” Doing this helps to not bring unwanted attention. Neutrals or matching the shirt color to the color of the shoes is a great idea. Dark colored skinny jeans, and flared pants help to look more professional. Long sleeve crop tops, and honestly even a baggy flannel would help put this look together too. Shoe choice can vary depending on the type of pants someone is wearing, but boots are perfect for this category!

These inspirations should spark some great outfits for the winter season. There are so many options out there so, regardless of what you decide to wear, remember to dress in whatever way makes you happy!
