Jan Zelaya, varsity football player, friend, brother, and son survived the unthinkable. September 2nd, 2022, Jan was driving home right before the football game when he was involved in a motorcycle accident. While his injuries were extensive, he is currently awake and recovering well.

His injuries included multiple broken bones, torn ligaments, and gashes on his body. Jan has undergone two surgeries so far. Family friend Amanda Miller stated, “he's in good spirits” when updating the Jaguar community on his recovery.

The Jaguar Jungle dedicated their win against Westerville Central on Friday,September 2nd, to Jan, and continues to show support through visiting and reaching out on social media. While he is in active recovery, Jan(11) says, “he's doing good” and “appreciates everyone's support”.

Teammate and friend Carter See(10) says, “he's such a great friend and I hope he has a speedy recovery”. While Carter is just one friend, many stepped up and spread the word about the incident and continue to share ways to help Jan and his family during this hard time.

If you would like to donate and help out the Zelaya family, the Go Fund Me link will be listed below. The Jaguar Times wishes Jan the best of luck and a speedy recovery. We can't wait to see you back on the field and in the halls!
