As 2021 comes to a close, many students and staff are beginning their preparations for the new year to come. A common tradition that students and staff have grown up with is creating new year’s resolutions. Whether they’re health goals, productivity-related goals, or financial goals, some people do better with reaching these resolutions than others.
The Jag Times talked to students and staff about their New Year's resolutions- if they had them. Some people don’t even bother making them because they have no faith that they will be able to complete them. Hailey Parsell (11) says that she “[doesn’t] make New Year’s Resolutions because [she gives] up on them.
The number one New Year’s resolution for 2021, according to RL130, is improving one’s health. This can also be seen in our very own school as Key Rapier (9) states, “I want to get big for this year.” Coach Loparo joins Rapier in this goal saying his New Year’s resolution “is to exercise at least four times a week.”
Other students chose to set more school based goals. Reem Kadimi-Skalli (10) hopes to “ to stay on top of [her] schoolwork.” She is joined by senior class president, Jahari Henry (12), who says, “my New Year's resolution is to cut out toxic people from my life also to get my work done.”
Some Bradley staff chose to really shoot for the stars with their resolutions for the upcoming year. Mrs West-Mclinn is an avid golfer and is hoping “to get [her] golf score down below 90.” While Mr Cochran stated that “I would like to grow taller.” One of these goals seems much more attainable than the other, however the Jaguar Times wishes the best of luck to all with their New Year’s resolutions.
