The following story was written by a student on the staff of The Jaguar Times as part of Hilliard Bradley High School’s Journalism Production course.

Every year Bradley says goodbye to a class of seniors, and each year is harder than the last. We watch these students grow and change throughout their four years at Bradley, never thinking about what happens when the last bell rings for them. Many seniors participate in some sort of sport at Bradley. Since this is a big part of their life The Jag Times is interested in how they are feeling about stepping up to the plate, on to the court, or up to the line one final time.

Bradley offers a multitude of sports: track, basketball, swimming, softball, etc. Each team is full of talented student athletes and some amazing seniors like Gracelynn Peebles. She is a part of Bradley’s soccer team and runs indoor and outdoor track for Bradley. When talking to Gracelynn Peebles about competing in her last season as a Jaguar she says, “everyone says you won’t want to leave high school and they're not fully wrong” she elaborates by mentioning “I am excited to see how what I have learned from being a Jaguar forms me as an adult”. Many seniors feel this way as they finally realize they are entering the last few months of high school and are inching closer to graduation.

Winter season athletes are facing some of their last matches and spring athletes are getting ready to begin a new season. Students throughout the school are preparing to say goodbye to some of their best friends and teammates. Junior Kylee See says, “We started highschool with them and they helped us when we didn’t know what we were doing” she continues by mentioning how some became some of her best friends and how “it’s hard to say goodbye to the seniors”. Students are not the only ones dealing with hard goodbyes. Heather Keck, the goalkeeper coach for Bradley’s girl soccer team says, “I feel privileged to have been a part of their soccer journey” as she watched them take the field for the last time.

The new year has begun and we get closer to the end of the school year and closer to saying our final goodbyes. The Jaguar Times wishes all of our seniors good luck in their final season! We can’t wait to see what you do next and what mark you will leave at Bradley. Always remember once a Jag, always a Jag!
