This year, Bradley has a new opportunity for students: the Principal Advisory Committee. This committee allows Mr. Warfield to listen to students voicing their opinions on school related issues with the goal of creating a better school environment.

The meetings will start in November during lunch periods. There was a link sent out to the Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors class of Canvas pages to apply. Mr. Warfield will inform the students who got accepted via email.

Applicants are excited to find out if they are on the Advisory Committee. Afnan Muftah (11) says, “I’m interested in being a part of it because it sounds like fun and I want to be able to impact the school.”

Mr. Warfield explains the reason for the new student group. “The purpose of the meeting is going to be some lunch conversations, just about the school. How can we improve the school? We’re going to talk about what you guys' experiences are. We’re going to just talk to [students].”

Mr. Warfield wants to ensure that he gets to communicate with each person on the advisory committee clearly and gets the point across. Faith Michael (11) shares, “I applied for the Principal Advisory Committee because I believe making a change starts with one school.” She also shares that she wants “to be able to be a part of that change to make better accommodations for students not only in our school but schools all around Ohio.”

Many students want to be heard and contribute to their school environment because they benefit from it. The concept of having students share their thoughts with the principal is not new, but the new committee allows for a formal place where students can amplify their voices.
