Though the Ohio weather is fooling us, winter season is here in full swing. As the temperatures start dropping, there aren't really any more shorts or t-shirt options. Wardrobes are forced to change so we can stay nice and warm for the weather outside. Some struggle to find ways to stay stylish while staying warm. Sometimes it can be hard to style the “perfect” winter outfit. There are typically two options in the winter, something trendy, or something comfy. When following the trends we see a lot of different pant options. This can mean: mom jeans, straight legged jeans, corduroy pants, or maybe colored pants! There are many great pant options to styling an outfit that fits the trendy realm. Focus on colors, and clashing together with other pieces you're adding. For tops, there are many different routes. The classic zip up hoodie unzipped with a short sleeved top, crewnecks and hoodies, or you can always add a classic flannel.

Comfier outfits tend to be easier to put together. Though there are less options, it tends to be what everyone has the most access to. Sweatshirts, crewnecks, and long sleeve shirts styled with sweatpants, joggers, or leggings. Choir Director, Mr.Witt says, “I like wearing windbreakers and jeans or sweats in the winter”. This is the perfect example of what a good winter outfit would look like.

Colors are a key factor in making outfits work. There are thousands of different color combinations that you can play around with. Some common ones are: blue and black, green and brown, pink and cream, gray and orange and purple and black. Then again, there are so many other combinations that can work to make a great outfit.

Jasmine Meyers (11) says, “I like styling blue and gray together, because they compliment my hair color.” Hair colors can be influential in the process of picking a good outfit, so make sure to know what colors fit you as a whole and ensure your comfort!

Accessories are the last piece of spice that can be added to an outfit. Adding simple necklaces or bracelets can bring any outfit to the next level. Kira Morisue-Lesser (10) says, “My go to accessories are silver rings, with silver earrings and sometimes a simple necklace”. Really any type of jewelry that you love would be a great option for a winter outfit.

When styling, remember to stay true to yourself and what you love to wear and feel comfortable in.
